June??

I can't believe it's June already. Mostly because for the past week it has been pouring down rain. Now that it is officially June, I expect sunshine and sandals and nothing less! Soon enough I will be complaining about the dry desert summer and trying to escape to CA like I do every other year since we've been here. Speaking of which, last week marks the 2 year anniversary of buying this house. I told Don I would give it 2 years here. My 2 years are up, and here we sit. I can tolerate living here, but this place will never be "home" for me. While I longingly await the day we will leave here, I will focus on the positive. My friend Sue writes 3 things she's thankful for at the end of every blog and today, I will steal her idea.

1. Tammy & Nicole, because without them, life here would royally suck.
2. My Young Women - what an amazing group of girls and women that I serve with
3. My house, because while I hate this town, I do absolutely adore my house

On a totally different note, Austin had to give his first talk today in Primary. The excitement for him of speaking in church (whether it's a talk, a prayer or whatever) is purely motivated by the fact that he will get to speak on the microphone. This is all that matters to him. So all week, I geared him up for this talk by enticing him with the fact that "you'll get to speak on the microphone." Of all days, today, the microphone was gone. G-O-N-E I'm sure he was most disappointed, but he didn't show it and he did a great job. Don and I snuck into the back of the Primary room while we were waiting for his turn and he just seemed so big to me sitting up there in the front of the room - so grown up. Of course, these feelings were short-lived when he looked up and saw us sitting in the back and jumped out of his chair and came flying to the back of the room. He gave each of us a hug and then ran back to his seat up front. If only he would always stay this little and loving.

I don't have any pictures from this week, but I'll try to start posting more regularly. ;)

Edited to add: I suppose I would seem ungrateful if I didn't add Don and Austin to my gratitude list. So #4 - Don and Austin, for making life here in the desert much more bearable ;)

At least Fallon cools off in the evenings. In July the Low here is in the 90's! I must say I am not excited!
