Sacrament meeting talk

The Sunday before Thanksgiving, our family had the dreaded assignment of speaking in Sacrament meeting. I decided that Austin was old enough to give a talk as well. Austin has ALWAYS wanted to speak in Sacrament meeting. He does not get this from his mother. I would rather stick a fork in my eye than speak in front of people.

He did such a wonderful job - we couldn't have been more proud. The procrastinator in me waited until Saturday night right before bed to think about talks, so with Thanksgiving that week, Austin listed a bunch of things he was thankful for. We wrote them down and I typed it out into sentences for him. He got up and READ the talk all by himself. It was not memorized (we didn't have time for that) he was actually READING it. He is so excited to read. And he would not under any circumstances allow me to go up with him in case he needed help.

Some things he was thankful for - mom & dad, his pets, his house and food, Peter Pan, Primary, school and teachers. And his favorite teacher is his mom. :)

Here he is looking extra handsome that day. I'm pretty sure almost everyone in the ward came up to him afterward and told him how great he did! What a confidence booster for him. He asked me if we could speak in Sacrament meeting every Sunday. Not a chance buddy!
