Skirt Making

Tomorrow night for mutual, my girls will be finishing sewing the skirts that we began last summer. (I know, I'm a slacker.) So, one of the girls mom is a super sewer and she took charge of this activity when we started, but she is not able to come tomorrow night - so me and my lack of sewing skills am on my own. She did walk me through the skirt making process over the phone and it's really easy. Just to make sure, I thought I'd throw one together real quick this afternoon just to make sure everything goes smoothly tomorrow night.

I had some extra fabric hanging around (I actually have a LOT of fabric hanging around for someone who doesn't sew.) I don't know why I used this purple fabric. I do not own a single purple article of clothing. Austin took the picture below so that's why it's a little fuzzy. (Don't worry, I asked him to take it from the waist down - I didn't straighten my hair today and it's in a wavy nasty ponytail - gasp!)
Truth be told, I don't like the skirt at all. I doubt I'll even wear it. I wish it were more flowy (is that a word?). It just felt stiff and straight. Maybe once I wash it it'll chill out a little. But I did master the skirt making for the purpose of mutual tomorrow. Tomorrow afternoon I need to master the 3 tier skirt that most of the girls are working on - though I doubt I'll have time with a 3 month old in the house all day. (babysitting)

ha. You should see all the skirts I've tried to make!!! At least 5. They all don't fit me and are really big and baggy and just plain don't fit! I just made a tier one last week and the hem is SO uneven I can't even wear it! It is so sad and such a waste of fabric!
