We have several New Year Resolutions going on in our house right now. Today is Day 12. Some are going really well (reading scriptures together daily) and some, we'll let's just say they haven't begun yet (practicing my oboe daily...)
One goal we have is to save money wherever we can - especially right now while work is not steady. I've decided one good way to do this is to not pay for certain things. (No, I have not resorted to stealing!) I have entered the world of couponing. Some of you may think, sure you can save a couple of cents here and there with coupons, but check out this picture:
I paid just over $5.00 for everything you see pictured above.
I'll break it down here:
Ben & Jerrys ice cream - FREE
4 Johnson's Bath Buddies (kids soap) - FREE
3 Airwick Lumin Air flameless candles - FREE
Garnier Fructis Shampoo & Conditioner - FREE
2 boxes Quaker Oats Instant Oatmeal - 99 cents each
5 jugs of Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice - $3.00
I'm so excited about the stuff I can get for free and the savings I can get on things that we would be buying anyway - like the oatmeal and juice! Couponing is my new obsession!

We use the same kind of shampoo and I love it! How the heck did you get it for free? I paied $8! That is so not fair.
Wow Amy! I admire you coupon Queen! I tried to start "couponing" and just got frustrated. Are you interested in doing tutorials :)
Good job! I also coupon, but I haven't done it since October or so. We've been living on the food storage we saved since then. I'm excited to start again. It's amazing what you can buy for so little!

last week Walgreens had Garnier on sale for $2.99. They also had a $2.00 off coupon in their January Easy Saver catalog at the front of the store. AND there was a $1.00 coupon in the paper the week before- thus making it free ;)
Where in the world did you get those kind of coupons????
Here's a breakdown:
Ben & Jerry's - was on sale at Walgreens for $3. Got an Internet printable coupon for $3.00 off making it free
Johnsons Bath Buddies - .97 each at Walmart - used 2 Internet printable coupons $2.00 off 2 Johnsons products making 4 of them free
Airwick - $5.00 coupon in Sunday paper coupon inserts. Walmart sells these for $4.97. I had 3 coupons, so I got 3 for free
Shampoo - see my comment above to Sariah
Oatmeal - $1.99 each coupon in Walgreens paper. Had 2 coupons from Sunday inserts for $1.00 off - making them 99 cents each
Juice - Safeway was selling these $2 each, but when you buy 5, they would take off $5, making them $1 each. I also had 2 Ocean Spray coupons for $1.00 off so I paid $3 for 5 bottles
