I didn't do much shopping this week as we didn't really need anything but I did get these items for $2.42.
The 3 Johnson's Buddies soaps, the 2 boxes of baking soda and the Kotex pantiliners were all free after coupons. (In the past 2 weeks, I've gotten 7 boxes of Johnson's Buddies for free. I won't need to buy Austin soap for a while!)
The chocolate covered macadamia nuts satisfied a chocolate craving and they were only 50 cents a bag (regular priced $4.49!)
CLR is very expensive ($5.99 for that small bottle!) but we really needed it and I had a $5.00 Register Rewards from Walgreens (like a gift certificate that prints out with your receipt when you purchase certain items.) So that made the CLR only 99cents.
I've had a lot of folks email me asking where I get my coupons, so I'll do a quick post about it.
First of all, save the coupons out of your Sunday paper. I just write the date on them and keep them in a folder. You never know when you'll be able to use them to get free stuff.
I also use Internet Printable coupons a lot.
Check out these 2 sites:
I also follow money saving blogs. There are people out there who scour all the coupons in Sunday papers and what's available on the Internet and compare them with the weekly shopping ads. They match up the great deals and then I cut print and cut coupons and go shopping.
Here are a couple of blogs I follow:
Last, you can always type in "such and such printable coupon" into google and see if something comes up. Last week I needed to buy Austin a new tub of Aquaphor for his excema. Aquaphor is expensive, so I just typed in "Aquaphor printable coupon" and found a $1.oo off coupon.
One other thing we don't pay for anymore is renting movies. This past year we discovered the Red Box at Walmart where you can rent new movies for $1.00 a night. So we stopped going to Blockbuster. When I started following the money saving blogs I posted above, I found that every Monday, RedBox puts out a code for a free movie. So every Monday we rent a movie for free.
