School Harvest Festival

For school, the kids were only allowed to dress up as animals or an occupation. I didn't think that "Space Ranger" would count as an occupation in his teacher's eyes, so he was a Marine like his Uncle Shawn. Uncle Shawn got him this outfit for Christmas last year. It's still way too big in the pants, but we made it work. Unfortunately, the only shoes he had that looked anything close to boots were his brand new church shoes. So I let him wear those to school. BAD IDEA. When he rides the scooter, he drags his toes to stop, and let's just say the shoes aren't new anymore.

Waiting in line for bowling

Pumpkin crafts

Riding the scooter (that made him ruin his shoes)

Austin and Lucas playing house

They had hayrides for us which the kids thought was great!
They even allowed them to sit on the horses.

Didn't want to sit with Mom on the hayride, he sat with Tyler,
but ended up joining me just before the wagon took off.

I love this picture

Petting the horse. Check out the lady in the background. She spray painted her hair orange and painted her face green and outlined her lips with thick red lipstick. I mean, there was like an inch thick of lipstick on the outside of her lips. I don't know what she was dressed up as, maybe a scary makeup witch? I wish I had a closer picture so you could see what i mean!

I got to attend school with Austin all day and it was a lot of fun to see him interact with his friends and with the teachers. He really was one of the best behaved children in his class (and I'm not just being a bragging mom here!) I think he's older than some of them, so he's able to sit still and be attentive when the teacher is reading stories or giving instructions. Most of the other kids kept getting up and running around or kicking each other. He was one of only 2 or 3 kids that sat quietly and listened the whole time. I was very proud of him.

Helping out with the kids and doing projects in his class *kind of* made me miss having daycare kids here during the day. Not daycare kids in diapers needing bottles, but the ones that are old enough to sit down and listen to stories and do crafts.
