On Monday Austin was moved up to a higher class at his school. His teachers felt that he was "too smart" (their words, not mine!) for the preschool class and he's now in the Intermediate class with the bigger kids. His school has 3 levels - Preschool, Intermediate, and Kindergarten. The Intermediate class are kids who are kindergarten-ready. He will be learning word recognition and getting ready to learn to read which is something he wants to do so badly. He LOVES books. He'll also work on writing letters on his own without tracing them and beginning math concepts. He is very excited to be in the new class. Austin LOVES his school and is doing so well, I'm so glad we decided to send him to Discovery instead of putting him in the school district. He also has made a ton of little friends there. The other day he informed me that he has more than 25 friends! i told him he has more friends here than I do!
This picture of him is from 2 Sunday's ago when we had our Ward Primary Program. All the kids in Primary (ages 3-11) participate in a presentation during our church service. They sing songs and each child has a speaking part. Austin has looked forward to this since last year when he wasn't big enough to be in Primary yet. He proudly memorized his line to say over the microphone.
Austin, we are so very proud of you!
