1st Day of School

It finally happened... my little baby is big enough to go to school. Just pre-school, but still... 5 hours a day, 4 days a week. Yesterday was the first day and Austin had so much fun.

The last couple of weeks have been stressful trying to decide our best options for preschool. After a lot of miscommunication with the school district, we decided to pull him out of the free preschool through the school district and send him to a private preschool. We feel really good about this decision, despite the financial burden. I really think Austin will thrive in this program and learn a lot. So far so good, but it's only Day 2!

When I picked up Austin after school yesterday he said:

"Why are you here, Mom?"

No separation anxiety on his part at all.... Mom is doing well too. It helps that I can peek at him on the Internet during the day and see what he's doing.

Ready to go

Okay mom, please let this be the last one!

And off to school

Austin also got a haircut this weekend. I took a side and back view for his grandparents to see. It was much longer before.

And last but not least, Austin had his stitches removed yesterday. I'd like to say that it went well, but I'd be lying. It was just as horrible as when they put them in. He was crying as soon as the doctor came into the room and flailing and letting out high-pitched blood curdling screams as soon as she touched him. He screamed the whole time. It didn't heal as nicely as we had hoped, so he needs to keep it bandaged up for another 3 days so it can hopefully close up some more.
