We had Austin's birthday party a week after his actual birthday, on April 17. In Northern Nevada, you can never be too sure what the weather is going to be like in April. Some years it's nice for his birthday, other years it's rained. This year we had snow a few days before the party AND a few days after the party, but the day of the party was absolutely beautiful!
Austin is obsessed with Mario so he wanted a Mario party. We had Mario games and, of course, a Mario cake. Unfortunately there was a small disaster involving the top of the cake, right before the guests arrived. Mario, Princess Peach and the tunnel they are standing on FELL OVER and messed up the top of the cake. We had to do a quick fix, which is why Toad is laying down on the top part of the cake. He is covering the messed up part where the tunnel fell!
Despite the disaster, the kids LOVED the cake and it tasted very good!
Austin was very happy with it, which is all that matters!

I probably could have gotten away with not planning any games at all. The kids had a blast just playing on the swingset.

This is Austin's "girlfriend" Shaneria. They "love" each other. She is responsible for my sweet little 6 year old boy's first kiss a couple of weeks ago. We have to keep an eye on these two at school.

Time to open presents. Austin got some great things!

Time for cake!

And one last shot of most of the party guests. A good time was had by all!
