Update

Just in case anyone still follows our blog, I apologize for not having updated it in like 2 months. Somehow, life has just gotten really busy. Now that I'm teaching, I cannot seem to organize my time very well outside of school. I also have barely taken any pictures in the past 2 months.

Here's a brief update on what we've been up to in January and February:

In mid-January, we enjoyed a brief visit from Grandma and Grandpa Hawkins and Auntie Shandra. We have only seen Shandra once in the past almost 2 years so this visit was well overdue. We still had snow on the ground from our big snowstorm at the beginning of December. Austin was thrilled that someone was actually interested in going out and playing in the snow with him.

Austin has a girlfriend. Her name is Shaneria. They are best buds and are planning on getting married. We enjoyed the festivities as she turned 6.

We have enjoyed building forts.

And painting upside down.

We have also found ourselves in a new ward, with new callings. The ward boundaries changed and we are now in the Fallon 5th ward. It has been a hard change as most of our friends are no longer in our ward. I have again been called to work with the Young Women. I am the YW Secretary. I'm pretty sure there's no better calling than this. Don has been called to work with the Primary. He is teaching the 11 year olds. They also want him to work with the 11 year old Scouts. We're still not sure how this is going to work since he is still working nights.

And speaking of, Don is still working at Amazon. He has made it thru several rounds of lay-offs and still has a job. We are very thankful for this. My job is going well. I am supposed to be going full-time sometime in the next couple of weeks. We have had several new kids start and once we get past the flu that's been going around, I will need to be in there full time. We have had several very young children start (2 year olds). A couple of them follow me around crying all day. It makes for a very draining day. (Thus, an excuse for not getting online and blogging lately.)

Last weekend we went to the train museum in Carson. The camera batteries were dead. While there were some interesting things, overall, it was pretty dissappointing (like everything else around here.) Apparently there are only train rides during the summer months. And you cannot even get on any of the trains (like we were able to at the train musuem in Suisun). There actually isn't very much to look at. You can go out into the train shed and this guy tells you about the trains in there, but some of them are way in the back where the public isn't allowed and it's dark and cold in there.

This week we tried our hand at geocaching. I have some friends who take their kids geocaching a lot and it seemed like fun. There are a LOT of caches here in Fallon, a handful are within walking distance from our house. So far this week, we have searched for 6. We have only found 2. We aren't very good at this little game. But the hunt is fun.

Here's the 1st one we found:

And the 2nd:

I promise to try to update more, if you all promise to keep reading and commenting ;)
