Young Women Medallion

After 7 years and serving off and on in Young Women's in 3 different wards, I have finally completed my Personal Progress. (If you are wondering what "Personal Progress is, click here). Brief synopsis - It has to do with completing projects for the 7 "Young Women Values" of Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice & Accountability, Good Works & Integrity. (I finished mine the day before the 8th value of Virtue was added). There are 6 projects to complete for each value, as well as a large 10+ hour project for each one.

I did not have the opportunity as a youth to do this as I did not become a member of the church until I was 18. For the record, I did not do the easier "leader" requirements. I did this the same way the girls are supposed to do it.

I hope that by working so hard to complete this, my girls will feel motivated to work on theirs as well. And someday when I have daughters, they won't be able to say "well you didn't do this mom!"

Yah Amy! That is so cool! I'm proud of you...it is a lot of work. I loved your days of Christmas posts and I just might have to steal that idea next year for my blog :)

Wow, Congrats! I didn't realize that you can get your medallion as an adult. Way to go!

You're awesome Amy! Way to go. I bet it was a much more fulfilling experience doing it as an adult. I didn't appreciate it enough as a teenager. Happy New Year!
