Oregon

We recently had the opportunity to travel to Southern Oregon for 5 fabulous days. I have always wanted to go to Oregon and it was absolutely beautiful. Ok, so we may have had a little trouble getting there. A 6 hour drive turned into a 10 hour drive, but we finally arrived safely at 2:30am. I find it a little ironic that we literally drove across the border into Oregon and it immediately started raining. It continued to rain/be overcast for our entire trip. Upon leaving and driving back toward the California border, THE SUN CAME OUT! It was still beautiful and we had a wonderful time.

The purpose of our trip? A dear friend of mine, Steve Harris, asked me to come play my oboe with his Stake Choir for a Christmas Program. Steve rocks, so of course I said Yes. And I knew he'd write me some good oboe parts. The performance went well and I was completely blown away with the number of people in attendance. WAY more people than were in attendance in any of the Gloria performances on Temple Hill this past weekend. If one Stake can have that many people show up for a choir program, why isn't there very many people in attendance at the events on Temple Hill when the entire Bay Area is involved??

Anyhow..... we got a chance to see the Medford Temple, not much different from Reno, but still beautiful.

Steve and Julie had a beautiful Christmas tree so I got this shot of Austin in front of it. Hoping to put it on our Christmas cards, if I ever get around to them......

All in all, it was a great trip and I think we fell in love with Medford while there. I am fairly certain we will be relocating there eventually.

Last but not least, a picture of Mt. Shasta on our drive home:
