This post is about 4 months late, but better late then never...
On April 14, 2012, Austin was baptized by his Dad. We were blessed to have family and friends travel from far away to be with us on his special day. Uncle Chris came from Washington and gave a talk on Baptism. Grandpa Hawkins gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. Grandma Hawkins and Auntie Shandra were there as well. We are blessed to have a wonderful ward. Many people came to support Austin on his big day. We are thankful for Bishop Schank and for our Primary Presidency. Austin's buddies from school were there as well.
Of course a baptism wouldn't be complete with a special muscal number. I asked my friend Steve to arrange a piece of music for him and his wife to sing. I didn't really want to accompany them on my oboe because I figured my emotions would be too much that day for me to get through the piece. Of course Steve had other plans and wrote a part for me anyway. I am always blown away by his arrangements. We were blessed to have him and his wife Julie travel here from Oregon to sing, as well as his extended family that live in Reno. I also asked a sweet sister from our last ward, Julieann Chappell to sing wth us. And Chelsie Schank is our amazing piano player. We ran through the music one or two times the morning of the baptism and I'd say it turned out alright!
After church the next day we took a few family pictures.

I am thankful that Austin made the choice to be baptized. He was so excited he did not want to wait until Saturday. He wanted to be baptized the second he turned 8, which was on a Monday. Fortunately, he agreed to wait until Saturday so that his family could be there! We love you Austin and we are very proud of the honorable young man you are growing into.
