Hot August Nights '09

We are fortunate to live so close to Reno, where there is always stuff going on (unlike here in Fallon.) Our favorite event is Hot August Nights. We love looking at the old cars (especially the '57 Bel Airs) and watching them cruise.

Don likes the rat rods
Monster truck

No, he wasn't crying. After spending the afternoon at Lake Lahontan, he was sunburned underneath his eyes! I guess I was a little too careful about avoiding the sunscreen in his eyes.

This was one of the oldest cars we saw there. It was with the Railroad Musuem's booth.

Village People in concert (yes, we did the YMCA)

I thought the paint job on this one was ridiculous

Lined with fur

This one was my favorite for '09
A '56 Bel Air (usually I'm partial to the '57s, but this one was a beauty - inside and out)

I LOVED the black velvet interior - I wish I could have gotten a better picture

We spent a while talking to this guy about his truck - he drove it up that morning from Central CA, not sure if it would make it or not.

And a classic Black and White '57
